Key takeaways
- On 9 October 2026 Marc Benioff announced that AIforce is now SIforce, for "Super Intelligence". It's the third name for Salesforce's AI direction this year.
- The rename came with no new features. Nothing you've built breaks.
- The change that matters is billing: Salesforce plans to meter every successful call a registered agent makes to a production org (reported target: November 2026, with 30 days' notice).
- Count your agent calls now, and design agents to batch their work.
Salesforce's AI has a new name: SIforce. Marc Benioff posted it on X on 9 October 2026: "The era of Super Intelligence is here. AIForce is officially SIForce."
If you're a Salesforce customer, you're probably wondering whether you need to do anything. Mostly, you don't. But there's one change coming in November that deserves your attention far more than the name.
Three names in six months
SIforce is the latest step in a year of announcements that all point the same way: Salesforce available wherever you work, run by AI agents.
| When | What Salesforce announced |
|---|---|
| 15 April 2026, TDX | Headless 360: Salesforce's capabilities as APIs, MCP tools and command-line tools, so AI agents can use them without a browser |
| 15 September 2026, Dreamforce | AIforce: Salesforce wherever you work, as Claudeforce (inside Claude), Slackforce (inside Slack) and Agentforce Coworker (inside Salesforce) |
| 9 October 2026 | AIforce renamed SIforce |
My take: The direction is genuinely strong. Being able to read and update your CRM from Claude or Slack, without opening Salesforce, is exactly how people want to work. The names just make it harder to explain.
What changes for you
Nothing you've built changes because of the rename.
Your Agentforce agents, flows and integrations keep working. There's no migration and no new licence because of the name. If a partner tells you to re-plan your roadmap because of SIforce, ask them what specifically changed.
What I'd tell a Salesforce admin or architect:
- Don't rewrite anything because of a rename. Follow the release notes, not the branding.
- Update your internal documents lightly. People will search for "SIforce", "AIforce" and "Agentforce"; a one-line note that they're related saves confusion.
- Watch what ships, not what's renamed.
The change that actually matters: November billing
Salesforce plans to meter every successful call a registered agent makes to a production org (reported target: November 2026, with 30 days' notice), so your agent design will show up on your bill.
Salesforce's help article Understand AIforce Impact describes new security controls, agent registration and a new billing model. Every successful call a registered agent makes to Salesforce, over MCP or the API, will be metered as a Headless Platform Interaction. The rate hasn't been published yet.
In plain terms: you'll pay for what your agents actually use. That can be fair and efficient, but only if you know how much your agents use.
Three things to do this month:
- List every agent and integration that touches Salesforce, including the ones built by individual teams.
- Estimate how many calls each one makes a day. That number becomes a line on your bill.
- Design agents to batch their work. One call per task, not one per step.
My take: The companies that plan for usage pricing now will be the ones that scale agents comfortably next year. The ones that don't will get a surprise in their first invoice.
What would help more customers adopt it
Customers need things they can plan around: a stable name, a price they can calculate, and proof from real deployments.
As a partner who wants more companies to succeed with Salesforce AI, here's what I hear customers asking for:
- A name they can plan around. Budgets and business cases last longer than a quarter.
- A pricing calculator before usage billing lands, so finance teams can approve with confidence.
- Free agent credits for developers to experiment without a purchase order.
- More real customer stories: what was deployed, what it cost, what it saved.
None of these is hard, and each would make it easier for people like me to help customers say yes.
